Tandridge District Council is working with the community, including the CR3 Forum and local businesses, key stakeholders and the Parish Councils to produce a viable Masterplan for Caterham Valley and Caterham-on-the-Hill.
The Masterplan aims to deliver a vision for Caterham Valley and Caterham-on-the-Hill based on previous community consultation exercises, in particular the Town Centre Design Statement (TCDS), building on the Neighbourhood Plan.

The Masterplan is being prepared in a staged way. We are currently in Stage 2 and are undertaking a formal 8 week consultation on a draft masterplan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The consultation will run from 27 November 2017 to 22 January 2018.
Once finalised, the masterplan will be adopted by Tandridge District Council as a SPD. Once adopted, the SPD will be able to help steer future development in a co-ordinated and planned way over the next 10 years. It will become part of the Local Development Plan (LDP) and used to help determine planning applications.
The Masterplan stages are:
Understanding the Now: Parking surveys and Transport Statement, Property Market Assessment, Planning Policy Review, Stakeholder Consultation, Townscape Analysis and Socio-Economic Review.
A number of baseline reports were produced and can be viewed here.
This stage of the project sets out aspirations for Caterham Valley and Caterham-on-the-Hill in the form of a draft masterplan SPD. The draft masterplan SPD has been produced based on the feedback received to date and the more detailed work undertaken by the Council and consultant team.
A summary of the representations received during the consultation and how they have been considered in drafting the final adoption version of the masterplan will be set out in a table and made available for view.
The representations received during the draft SPD consultation period will be considered before finalising the SPD. Once finalised the SPD will be adopted by the Council.
The consultation is based around a series of consultation boards that summarise the issues and opportunities to be considered for the Caterham Masterplan. Please look at the consultation boards and let us have your views.
